One Week Of Thrifty Habits – Monday 20th June To Sunday 26th

Getting Into The Habit Of Being Thrifty

You can find a wall-planner to help you keep on top of this week’s Thrifty Habits here. Use it to plan when exactly you are going to carry out the Weekly and Monthly Habits. You are much more likely to do something if you have actually scheduled it. Plus it’s nice to tick something off on a list. Or maybe that’s just me…

Thrifty Things To Do This Week

Thrifty Habits Planner April Week 1 - New PageIt’s the end of the month, which is the perfect time to draw up a budget for next month. Why? Because that way you have already decided how to spend each penny before it hits your bank account.

If you are anything like me, you get a little rush of excitement when your pay comes in. You relax your guard against overspending and – boom – in only a matter of days your balance has plummeted.

retro-reminder-vintageimage-Graphics-Fairy2Over the years I have found three things helpful in combating my pay-day-millionaire tendencies. The first is making a budget before I get the chance to start spending. The second is putting most of the money we have budgeted into individual purses so I know exactly how much (or how little) we have left to spend on different areas. And the third is setting aside money to treat ourselves. That way you don’t reach the end of the month feeling so deprived that you fall on your next paycheck with greedy abandon.

This is also the week to Share Something. Click here for more information about why giving your money away is thriftier than it sounds.
